On the occasion of 82nd birthday of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thai National Day 05/12, Vinh University organized a solemn meeting with Thai students at Vinh University on December 4, 2009. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, president of VU, gave a welcoming speech. He presented the congratulations to Thai People in general and Thai students at VU in particular. He emphasized the achievements of Thailand in recent years and recognized the importance of this country in the South-Eastern Asia. Always in his speech, the official diplomatic relation between Thailand and Vietnam was set up and has been strengthened since 1976. The cooperation between two countries has effectively developed in different fields. The trade turnover achieves 5 billions USD. During Vietnamese Innovation Time, Thailand effectively helped with many international and national programs and activities, especially Thailand supported Vietnamese Integration in World Trade Organization (WTO), ASEAN, etc., thanks to this, the cooperative relation between two countries has flourished.

This recent years, Vinh University has developed cooperative relation in education, training and scientific research with many countries of which Thailand is a potential partner. Vinh University has cooperated in Training, student, graduate student and lecturer exchanges with Thai Universities among them Nakhon Phanom University, Rajabhat Ubon Thani University, Udon Thani University, Khonken University, Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. VU’s lecturers gave courses on Vietnamese studies to Thai enterprises’ personnel. VU also admits Thai students to Vinh University from Nakhon Phanom University and Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. Thai educational and research institutions also admit VU’s students and staff to study and to do scientific research. Academic cooperation between VU and Thai educational institutions promotes positive common developments.
