Vinh University organized the tree planting campaign with the participation of Nghe An provincial People’s committee, Nghi Loc district People’s Committee and related departments in the province on February 22, 2010. The campaign is to respond the appeal of Uncle Ho (president Ho Chi Minh), which emphasizes the importance of the environment to our life.
Tree planters had the occasion to make their contribution to environment protection on the second campus of Vinh University. This campaign is likely called “Tree planting festival” created by Ho Chi Minh on November 28, 1959. According to Ho Chi Minh’s saying, the tree can help people with environmental issues solution and accommodation by making use of wood. To encourage the Vietnamese inhabitants to plant trees, Ho Chi Minh planted himself a banyan in Bay Mau Park (i.e. Reunification Park or Lenin Park today in Hanoi). This is a great motivation to people to plant more and more trees over the country.
This year, the seedlings were cautiously selected according the standard by Natural resources and environment department based on the quality and the characteristics of soil.
To finish the campaign, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi expressed his heartfelt thanks to participants on behalf of Vinh University and hoped these trees will soon give the green and the shade.
