On February 17, 2011,  the Vice-Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, and her officials visited Vinh University. The president of Vinh University had a welcome speech before working session started with an introduction of representatives of Nghe An Province authorities and concerned officials at Vinh University. He made an important mark of Vinh University in his short talk about Vinh University’s training activities, the achievements in training and scientific research and technology transfer in biology, aquaculture, agronomy, agriculture encouragement and rural development, lands management, forest resources protection and environment, etc. He also presented Vinh University’s competence in operating projects of rural, agricultural and aquaculture development as well as in carrying out scientific research in domestic and foreign agriculture and aquaculture. For further development in these sections, the president expressed his wish to get more supports from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, especially those in material improvement through its project programs.

With a very high appreciation, the Vice-Minister Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu recognized Vinh University as one of leading training and scientific research institutions in Vietnam. She emphasized important contributions by Vinh University to the development of  mostly agriculture. The cooperation which Vinh University could establish with local communities to transfer technology in agriculture touched her a lot. She suggested Vinh University to develop its training and research in biodiversity, conservation of precious and rare genes. Scientific research should be done in accordance with the local and national authorities so that the work can be applied in real life.
