1. Vinh University was recognized among national key universities by the Prime Minister

 Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan signed the official correspondence No 1136/TTg-KGVX on the addition of Vinh University to key university project of the Vietnamese Government on July 11, 2011. This action once more recognized Vinh University’s role in national education, training and research activities and created to Vinh University opportunities, but also challenges.

2. Students of the first course applying credit-based system training graduated in 2011.

 According to the training program of Vinh University, credit-based system has been applied for 6 years, students of the first course applying credit-based system graduated. Among first 2783 students, nine got excellent grade and 215 goods. In the same year, 34 children at VU’s Kindergarten  finished their school to start primary school.

3. HR development according to the Resolution No 666-NQ/ĐU on July 25, 2011 by the Executive Committee of Vinh University’s Communist Party

On July 25, 2011, the Executive Committee of Vinh University’s Communist Party promulgated the Resolution No 666-NQ/ĐU on HR development in response to social needs. This resolution figured out contents and general solutions to comprehensively improve training quality.

4. Regulation, checking and promulgation of regular training program’s framework based on credit-based system.

 After the graduation of students in the first course applying credit-based system, Scientific -Training Council of the University evaluated the results, learnt experiences and processed regulation and promulgation of training program framework. Some subjects are eliminated, but the workload is still the same. Time for practice and experiment is more privileged. Credit-based system will be applied for graduate studies.

5. Establishment of new divisions:

 The University established its Publishing House on December 18, 2011 after the approval by the Ministry of Information and Communications defined at the License Certificate No 872 on June 8, 2011. In the same year, Vinh University founded War Veterans Association, Center for Practices and Experiments and Center for Sport Activities.

6. Organization of numerous important conferences to figure out training quality improvement solutions

 The University successfully held the conferences “Improvement of In-the-Job Training Quality”, “Improvement of Training Quality in response to social needs”, “Solutions to train high quality HR to Lao PDR” (organized in Xiengkhuang Province - Lao PDR) and “Essential and comprehensive renovation of education and training, improvement of HR in response to socio-economic development and world integration”. All conferences attracted businessmen, employers, training affiliates, foreign partners and concerned peoples who made suggestions, communications and contributions to the success of conferences.

7. Authorities from the Ministry of Education and Training oriented Vinh University’s scientific research activities in the term of 2011-2015.

The Vice-Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy and his staff participated in the conference on scientific research activities at Vinh University as chairman and participants on September 23, 2011. After this event, the Ministry of Education and Training had an announcement No 1051/TB-BGDĐT on the evaluation of scientific research activities in the term of 2006-2010 and the orientation of these activities in the term of 2011-2015 by Mr. Tran Quang Quy, the Vice-Minister.  The orientation emphasized 5 important assignments in scientific and technological activities in the term of 2011-2015.

8. Ground clearance and facilities repairment and improvement.

 After tens of years, Viet Duc Area has been cleared from the population’s use, which makes Vinh University’s first campus a unified block. In 2011, all offices in building A1 and A0 were improved, they have a new and nice look afterward.

9. Celebration of 50^th anniversary of Physics, Chemistry and Biology Faculties

In October 2011, Vinh University successfully organized the celebration of 50^th anniversary of three faculties: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The celebration reviewed the process of their establishment and development during 50 years of action. On this occasion, Vinh University held many international and national specialized conferences, especially the international conference on Physics methodology and research.

10. Organization of artistic activities “The Country viewed from the sea” in response to “Stone collection to build Paracel Island”

 The Youth’s Union and Student Association of Vinh University successfully held artistic program “The country viewed from the sea” in response to the program “Stone collection to build Paracel Island” mobilized by Central Youth’s Union. This activity was reported by national and provincial medias. In the same year, the University organized meaningful political activities which contributed to the declaration of the country’s sovereignty against hostile forces.
