Israeli Ambassador - Effie Ben Matityau - visited Vinh University
  
Israel is a country with long – standing culture of education; it is a country whose citizens pride themselves on making intellectual contributions. Through images of Israel in the public media, we have come to know it as a country with a highly developed scientific research community. In particular, Israel is very advanced in the areas of technological science, telecommunications electronics, agronomy, bio-technology.. Israel has diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and the two countries continue to effectively collaborate with each other on various educational activities, including a student grant program that will enable students in Vietnam to study science and technology related fields in Israel.
The Rector of Vinh University, Associate Professor Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, the Vice Rector, Associate Professor Doctor Pham Minh Hung and the representatives of theInternational Department, the Division of Student Affairs warmly received the Israeli delegation. On behalf of Vinh University, Associate Professor Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Hoi expressed his gratitude for the attention paid to Vinh University by Israeli Ambassador. On the occasion of the visit of the Ambassador, the Rector of Vinh University gave a general introduction about Vinh University, including a discussion ot the student exchange programs, which will be set up with foreign partners. He also touched upon the University’s general international cooperation strategy for the coming years.
Then the Ambassador gave a brief introduction of Isareli culture and outlined his country’s achivements in science and technology. The Ambassador also expressed interest in the international cooperation program which would allow the two countries—Vietnam and Israel—to share resources and give students the opportunity for educational and cultural exchange. At present, there are over 180 Vietnamese students studying in Israel through the Embassy scholarship program. The Ambassador also expressed the wish that the Israeli Embassy could be a bridge between Vinh University and Israeli Universities to carry out the educational exchange program, including some online training courses that will be offered in the coming years. The Israeli Embassy also may grant scholarships for Vietnamese students to study at the University level or even postgraduate level in Israel. After discussing the cooperation program between the two countries, the Ambassador also wanted to express his wish to organize international workshops between the two nations, beginning with an online forum.
On behalf of Vinh University, Associate Professor Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, thanked the Ambassador for his visit and expressed his wish to cooperate with Israel in various fields, especially in education and the scholar and student exchange programs.
