Today, February 24th 2009, the Memorandum Signing Ceremony for International Cooperation between Victoria University, Australia and University of Vinh, Vietnam takes place in Meeting-room A (Building A1), Vinh University.
Representatives of Vinh University include Ass. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, the rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa, the vice rector, and representatives from relevant departments and faculties; Representatives of Victoria University include Mr. Andrew Holloway, the vice rector, Ms. Danielle Horvath, General Manager Business Development International, Mr. John Keane, Director of Hanoi Melbourne Consulting P/L and Mr. Chris Robinson, Acting Executive Dean in the Faculty of Business and Law.
Before the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, the rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa, the vice rector, and representatives from relevant departments and faculties have discussed and consented to contents of the memorandum.
The contents discussed focus on development programs on training, international conference and seminar organization, scientific research and lecturer and student exchange. To mark the beginning step in the mutual cooperation, the representatives of two parties signed an agreement, in which Victoria University will launch the master program on education management at Vinh University in the time to come (scheduled in September 2009)
This master program will be taught by professors from Victoria University. In the first period, students will be helped by interpreters who will directly translate English lectures into Vietnamese in class. However, in the next periods, only English will be used in all classes. The number of students in each class is projected from 25 to 30.
Along with master program on education management, two universities will launch other master programs, such as Finance and Banking, Accounting, IT, etc. All master programs also will be taught by professors from Victoria University. Nevertheless, the training programs are not limited at post-graduate levels, under-graduate programs can be involved in the future. Students who complete these programs will be certified at international standards as well as get international corresponding diploma.
The cooperation program with Victoria University is a high feasible international cooperation program at Vinh University. Two universities value development strategies in the memorandum signed today and expect the success of the mutual development
