After visiting Vinh University, observing two classes, and learning about the University, the delegation of Nakhon Phanom Universtiy, Thailand was greatly impressed by the teaching, training and the equipments here at Vinh University. They also expressed the wish to cooperate with Vinh University, not only with regards to educational training, but also to mutual exchange of teachers and students.
On February 19th, 2008, at 2:00 pm, the leaders of two universities and the representatives of divisions of Vinh University met and discussed the two institutions’ plan to collaborate on educational training and research. The two parties agreed on a “2+2” training program for students and training personnel for Nakhon University, especially in the field of mathematics. In addition, the two parties agreed to participate in a joint ressearch project to investigate the similarities between the culture of the people, who inhabit a small area near the Mekong River and that of the people of Thailand. The joint research team will organize professional conferences and publish scientific books together. According to the Arrangement, Vinh University would send leading mathematical professors to Thailand to help Nakhon Phanom University to train both students and teachers of mathematics. After just two-hours discussion, the two universities signed a five-year partnership agreement.
The Agreement between Vinh University and Nakhon Phanom University is one of the greatest successes of the year 2009. It is also a testament to the international cooperative strategy that Vinh University has adopted vis-à-vis universities in other countries. For its part, the agreement with Nakhon Phanom University is contributing to Vinh University’s international reputation.
